You know what time it is. Another bloodbath and this time it’s going to be between our boy Luffy in his Gear 5 form against Madara Uchiha in his Jubi Jinchuuriki form!
Today, we will answer the question : Can Gear 5 Luffy beat Madara ?
Now, you guys know me. I’ve been an anime fan in general since 2008 and I have seen both Naruto and One Piece from start to finish so I have just one question, Can Gear 5 Luffy defeat Madara in his Rikudou form?
We’ll have to find out!
Gear 5 Luffy vs Madara
Luffy’s pretty famous by now. You know the whole drill regarding his story, upbringing and inspiration for his dream of becoming the next King of the Pirates. With Gear 5 unlocked, he has reached the pinnacle of his abilities and has become a dangerous adversary.
Then, you have the legendary Ghost of the Uchiha, Madara Uchiha himself who has been instrumental in orchestrating his Infinite Tsukuyomi plan by mentoring Obito after his supposed death by Hashirama Senju, unleashing the Ten-Tails into this world and bringing nothing but utter destruction in the Naruto verse, becoming the Ten-Tail Jinchuuriki all the while realizing his dream of peace through control. Being the Jinchuuriki and possessor of both the Rinnegan and the Rinne-Sharingan, he is a terror amongst his enemies.
But the question still remains, what would a fight between these two look like? I am very curious to see how the aftermath would turn out.

I can’t compare this fight using standard criteria because Madara is a Ninja who uses chakra and Luffy is a pirate who uses haki (devil fruit), which are polar opposites.
So we’ll judge the battle with the criteria written below:
- Strength
- Speed
- Power (destructive capabilities)

- Battle IQ
- Devils fruit power vs Jutsu
Can Luffy beat Madara in terms of Strength?
Gear 5 is the apex of all the strength of Luffy so far and considering the fact that he has mastered both the Basic and Advanced forms of all three variations of Haki i.e. Observation, Armament and Conquerors, this does ring true, making him one of the few people in the One Piece verse to achieve this feat at such a young age.
Madara, on the other hand, has incomparable strength. He casually lifted two mountains when he was in Edo Tensei mode and sent Naruto in his Sage Mode flying, temporarily incapacitating him when he was revived.
This goes to show that Madara has insurmountable strength worthy of challenging Luffy.

Can Luffy beat Madara in terms of Speed?
Luffy is a fast and speedy guy, there is no doubt about it as proven by how he dodged Kaido’s Thunder Bagua attack, eventually blitzing him.
I’m pretty sure he kept up with Madara’s student, Obito in his previous encounter as well. If you haven’t read that, Check Gear 5 Luffy vs Obito !
Now, Madara is fast. So much so that we can say he is Massively Hypersonic due to the fact that he kept up and blitzed both Rinnegan Sasuke and Six Paths Sage Mode Naruto!
But if we compare him to Luffy, Madara would get the upper hand.

Can Luffy beat Madara in terms of Destructive Capabilities?
Remember when Luffy got his Gear 5 ability unlocked, and specifically said that he could do everything he wanted and reach the pinnacle of what he could achieve?
Well, Gear 5’s destruction power works like that as well. Pummeling Kaido with his Bajrang Gun into an underwater volcano and then making it erupt is no small feat for anyone to achieve!
Then there’s our Ghost, who has kept up and traded blows with legends like Hashirama, Six Paths Sage Mode Naruto, and Rinnegan Sasuke and left them injured or gasping for breath.

Can Luffy beat Madara in terms of Endurance?
I’m pretty sure you know who Luffy has fought with until now, so I won’t be repeating their names again, but if you’ve kept up with the posts on a regular basis, you would know that Luffy is the perfect example of taking a beating and never backing down.
Madara is in a league of his own. Taking hits from the legendary Might Guy in his Eighth Gate released form AND still surviving requires a MASSIVE level of endurance and durability for one to survive. Not only that, he fought Hashirama for a full day and night consecutively while using his Chakra to summon the Nine-Tails Fox when he was alive, which goes to showcase his durability and stamina.
But to compare it to the two, Madara would surely win.

Now, we all know Luffy’s a simple guy and simple people do simple things. Which gets him into trouble. Every. Time.
Madara, however, was VERY different. He came up with the Eye of the Moon plan and mentored Obito AFTER his physical death which he realized later in life, going to show the extent of his machinations.
Madara beats Gear 5 Luffy in terms of IQ by a very high margin.
Can Luffy beat Madara in terms of Battle IQ?
Now, Luffy may be a simple guy but even someone like Luffy can stand his ground against some of the toughest enemies he has ever faced thanks to his upbringing and training from his grandfather, Monkey D. Garp.
Madara would take the cake in this one considering the fact that he grew up fighting the Senju and would improvise his strategy every time he fought a new opponent.

Can Luffy beat Madara in terms of devil fruit power?
If you’ve seen my last post, you must know by now that Devil Fruit users are very weak to water.
Jutsus have an edge on the Devil Fruit users in such a manner that Chakra is the main driving force for performing Jutsus which is the lifeforce of an individual, hence, this gives them the chance to release Elemental Jutsu’s as well. Well, the argument’s settled.
Madara’s Jutsu would win over Gear 5 Luffy’s Devil Fruit Power anytime.
Can Gear 5 Luffy beat Madara ? Final words :
The time for the final result has now come!
Madara in his Rikudou form would pummel Gear 5 Luffy due to the fact that he has Dual Rinnegan along with Rinne Sharingan unlocked, and the fact that he is a Ten-Tailed Jinchuuriki makes him an opponent too much for Luffy to handle even in his Gear 5 form.
