Hello there Nakama!

The Supernova’s within the world of One Piece are some of the strongest characters that make pivotal changes within its realm. Twelve of them arrived on Sabaody Archipelago 2 years later and wreaked havoc around the world, coining them the term “Worst Generation.” Among them are two formidable warriors, Roronoa Zoro, and Trafalgar D. Water Law.

The two may not have seen eye to eye in the beginning, but over time they came to respect each other thanks to the alliance between Law and Luffy. But what would happen if the two were to fight one another to death? Who would emerge victorious? Can Zoro Beat Law? Or would Law have the upper hand?

Come set sail with me in this blog post, as I’ve been a passionate fan of One Piece for the past 15 years, and let us see who wins at the very end!

Zoro vs Law

I may not have explained before, but The Supernova’s are up-and-coming pirates that have managed to get at least a bounty of 100,000,000 Berries in the first half of Grand Line i.e. “Paradise.” Once they cross into the “New World” or the second half of the Grand Line, a bounty of this much value is considered to be aptly weak and normal. Twelve of these Supernova’s reunited 2 years later at the Sabaody Archipelago and carved a name for themselves in world history while raising their bounties of 100,000,000 Berries. Most of the events of the world are revolved around them after the Summit War of Marineford and caused quite a headache for the World Government.

The 12 members of the “Worst Generation” consist of Monkey D, Luffy, Marshall D. Teach, Capone Bege, Jewelry Bonney, Urouge, Scratchmen Apoo, Basil Hawkins, X-Drake, Killer, Eustass Kid, Roronoa Zoro, and Trafalgar D. Water Law. Except for Zoro and Killer, all of them are captains of their own crew and have a significant impact on the affairs of the world of One Piece! Alliances and betrayals happen between the two, and they form the crux and core of the affairs of piracy within the world of One Piece!

Now, Zoro and Law were never one to see eye-to-eye with one another, but thanks to Luffy’s instincts and Zoro’s loyalty to his captain, the two began to trust each other and respect each other as comrades willing to die for one another and as fellow swordsmen. In Wano arc, the two fought valiantly against Kaido and showed renowned teamwork skills as well!

But what would happen if, for some reason, there was a falling out between the crews of Heart Pirates and Straw Hat Pirates, and the two were to be at each other’s throats? In this case, the fight between Zoro and Law? We’re about to find out below!

Categories for battle assessment

Here are the categories for the fight:

  • Strength
  • Speed
  • Power (destructive capabilities)
  • Endurance
  • IQ
  • Battle IQ
  • Devil fruit and Haki

Can Zoro beat Law in terms of Strength?

Zoro’s Strength is constantly improving and there are still miles to go. Of course, his feats of one-shotting Pica, as well as Killer, won’t go unnoticed and are prime examples of showcasing his strength but let’s not forget that this man countered Kaido’s attacks and went head-on against Flame-On King (which is his strongest form). It would be Multi-Continental at the very least.

Law is no ordinary fighter either, and his strength is not to be looked down upon since he slashed Doflamingo, Vergo and injured a lifespan-amplified Big Mom and broke her bones eventually.

Should we compare the two in the feat of Strength, both are equal.

Zoro and Law are equal in terms of Strength.

Can Zoro beat Law in terms of Speed?

Zoro’s Speed is unmatched and unparalleled even amongst the fastest of all fighters present in the One Piece World as he was able to Blitz a Pacifista as well as Hody Jones. He even Speedblitzed Scratchmen Apoo, matched the speed of Hybrid Kaido and Speedblitzed King as well.

Law is no slow warrior either as he kept up with the speed of Vice-Admiral Smoker and split Vergo in half just before he could attack. Not only that, he kept up with the likes of Doflamingo and Dodged Big Mom’s Homies as well.

If we compare the two, Zoro would have a bigger edge over Law in terms of Speed, albeit with a low difference.

Zoro blitzes Law in terms of Speed with low difference.

Can Zoro beat Law in terms of Power (Destructive Capabilities)?

Zoro put in hell’s worth of training to build up his power, and it showed when he used Enma, the fabled sword of Kozuki Oden, to carve a cliff off the island while sapping him of a tremendous amount of Haki. King was the first to truly see the extent of the swordsman’s destructive power in this situation.

To draw out blood from Law and Big Mom while they are using Haki to defend themselves goes to show that Law has significant power. Hell, Doflamingo couldn’t overpower Law’s grip on his sword, and that speaks volumes!

To compare the two, they are on equal footing.

Zoro and Law are equal in terms of Power (Destructive Capabilities).

Can Zoro beat Law in terms of Endurance?

Zoro’s Endurance is unmatched and unparalleled amongst the straw hat crew. This is due to the fact that he once absorbed every single amount of pain Luffy has ever endured during Pre-Timeskip from Bartholomew Kuma. Since then, his resilience against the likes of Cognac Big Mom, Hybrid Kaido, and Full Zoan King by using his Asura Form against them despite suffering from injuries proved nothing short of Multi-Continental. What’s more is that taking a point-blank explosion blast from Flame-On King would render anyone dead and yet Zoro survived.

Law took Haki-infused beatings from Vergo as well as Doflamingo as well as Thunder Bagua attacks from Hybrid Form Kaido, and Lifespan-Amplified Big Mom as well which are nothing short of Multi-Continental.

The two stand on equal footing when it comes to Endurance.

Zoro and Law are equal in terms of Endurance.

Can Zoro beat Law in terms of IQ?

Zoro is smarter than Luffy; that is a definite given, but his poor sense of direction and recklessness in battle can be the end of him.

Law, however, is different in this aspect as he is a very crafty, gifted, as well as an intelligent leader and tactician. His medical abilities make him earn everyone’s respect and devised a plan to topple one of the four Emperors with a 30% success rate.

Law beats Zoro in terms of IQ.

Can Zoro beat Law in terms of Battle IQ?

Zoro may not have a sharp IQ but his battle aptitude makes up for it as he was trained by Dracule Mihawk, the world’s strongest swordsman, which enabled him to copy other’s moves such as Kin’emon’s Kitsunebi-ryu. Not only that, he directs all of his attacks on the enemies’ vital points.

The same can be said of Law where he thinks outside of the box and comes up with alternatives that are not in anyone else’s mind.

Zoro and Law are equal in terms of Battle IQ.

Can Zoro beat Law in terms of Devil Fruit power and Haki?

Zoro’s not a Devil Fruit user, but he is definitely a master of all three forms of Haki, both in Basic and Advanced Forms. This makes him all the more deadlier, and his attacks are improved immensely.

Law may have one of the strongest Devil Fruits in the world, and that is the Ope Ope no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that can help the user make a room and change the shape as well as orientation of anything present within the room, be it heart, body part or souls. Law may not be capable of mastering Conqueror’s Haki but his skillship in the other two makes him a formidable enemy to deal with as well.

However, if we compare him to Zoro, both would be on equal footing and standpoint.

Zoro and Law would be equal in terms of Devil Fruit power and Haki.

Conclusion :

This was a tough one, and it looks like it would definitely result in a stalemate since both are equally talented and formidable fighters.

Though it is highly unlikely that the two would fight, the resulting bout between them would end up in a draw.

Zoro and Law would be tied.
